Sharing, Retries, and Limits

How competitor reports are cached and shared, the export options, what a partial report means and how retries work, and the daily usage limits.

Last updated July 9, 2026

Sharing your report

Every report gets a public share link; the address bar updates to it as soon as the run starts, so you can even share a report that is still generating and the recipient will watch it finish. Anyone with the link can view the full report without an account. Reports and their share links expire 24 hours after generation; after that the link returns an expired notice.

Exports

The report exports as PDF, PNG, or JPG for sharing the formatted document, and as CSV for working with the structured rows (snapshot entries, losing points, win themes, objections, feature statuses, pricing tiers, and playbook steps) in a spreadsheet or CRM. Copy buttons throughout the report put individual scripts and talking points on your clipboard.

Caching: same inputs, same report

If you submit exactly the same inputs within 24 hours, you get the stored report back instantly instead of a new generation, and it does not count against your daily limit. Only fully complete reports are served from cache: a previous failed or partial run is never replayed at you. Changing any input, including the optional context note, produces a fresh run.

Partial reports and retries

The report tracks seven internal work units (research plus six analysis sections). If some complete and others fail, you get a partial report: everything that finished renders normally, a banner explains that some sections are missing, and a retry button re-runs the whole pipeline, research included, with a 30 second cooldown between attempts. If nothing completed the run is marked failed and you are returned to the form to try again. A retry counts as a run against your daily limit, since it costs the same research and analysis as a fresh generation.

If a run dies mid-pipeline (a provider outage, for example), a server-side watchdog notices the silence within a few minutes and marks the unfinished sections failed, so the progress screen always resolves honestly instead of spinning forever.

Usage limits

Competitor Intelligence is free with no email gate. To keep it that way, runs are limited per tool over a rolling 24 hour window: 3 runs without an account, 10 runs with a free account. Cached repeats do not count; retries do. A separate IP-level limit protects the platform from automated abuse.

Data retention

Reports are stored so share links work and expire 24 hours after generation. Your inputs (company, competitors, review URL, context note) are used to run the research and analysis for your report; they are not published anywhere outside it. Research only reads publicly reachable pages, and requests to private or internal network addresses are blocked.
