This tracker pulls real-time market data directly from the CoinGecko public API, covering the top 30 cryptocurrencies ranked by market cap. You see current price, percentage changes across three timeframes, market cap, and 24-hour trading volume all in one view.
The data updates automatically every 60 seconds, so you always have a current snapshot without needing to refresh the page manually. A countdown timer shows exactly when the next refresh will fire, and you can trigger an immediate refresh at any time using the Refresh button.
Each row in the tracker shows several key metrics. Price is the current USD value of one unit of that cryptocurrency, pulled from aggregated exchange data. Market cap is price multiplied by the circulating supply of coins, giving you a sense of a coin's total size relative to others.
24-hour trading volume tells you how much of that coin traded hands in the last 24 hours. High volume relative to market cap suggests active trading and strong liquidity, while low volume may indicate a coin is less actively traded and potentially harder to buy or sell at quoted prices.
The 1h, 24h, and 7d columns show price change percentages over each timeframe. Green with an upward arrow means the price is higher than it was at the start of that window. Red with a downward arrow means it is lower.
Looking at all three timeframes together tells a more complete story. A coin that is up 2% in 1h but down 15% over 7d may be bouncing back from a recent drop. A coin that is up across all three timeframes suggests sustained buying pressure. Short-term changes can be noisy, so the 7-day view often gives a clearer picture of momentum.
The three overview cards at the top aggregate data across the displayed coins. Total market cap sums the market caps of all 30 coins, giving a proxy for the overall size of the top-tier crypto market. Total 24h volume shows combined trading activity.
BTC dominance shows Bitcoin's market cap as a percentage of the combined market cap of the top 30 coins shown here. When BTC dominance is high, Bitcoin is capturing a larger share of value relative to altcoins. When it drops, capital tends to flow toward other cryptocurrencies. Traders watch dominance as a signal for broader market sentiment.
All price data comes from the CoinGecko public API. CoinGecko aggregates price data from hundreds of exchanges worldwide and is one of the most widely used free sources for cryptocurrency market data. No API key is required for the basic market data endpoint used here.
Prices refresh automatically every 60 seconds. A countdown timer in the header shows how many seconds remain until the next automatic refresh. You can also trigger an immediate refresh at any time by clicking the Refresh button. CoinGecko itself updates its data roughly every 60 seconds for most coins.
Market cap (market capitalization) is the total value of all circulating coins for a given cryptocurrency. It is calculated by multiplying the current price by the number of coins in circulation. For example, if a coin trades at $10 and there are 100 million coins in circulation, the market cap is $1 billion. Market cap is the standard way to rank cryptocurrencies by size.
24-hour volume is the total value of all trades for a coin across exchanges in the past 24 hours. High volume indicates strong trader interest and typically means you can buy or sell at the quoted price without significantly moving the market. Low volume relative to market cap can signal lower liquidity, which may mean larger price swings when big trades occur.
